The group recognises the importance of collaborative work across
a wide range of organisations and sectors so that accidents in the
county - in the home, at play, at work and on the road - can be significantly
reduced.
The range of agencies or organisations involved, and their roles,
will vary depending on local circumstances and the particular types
of accidents e.g. home, leisure, work, etc, being addressed. The
possible range of agencies and roles is enormous but is likely to
include:
- Local Authorities (e.g. statutory enforcement, home safety, road
safety, product safety, highways, passenger transport services,
leisure, etc)
- Police and Fire & Rescue Services
(e.g. law enforcement and safety campaigns)
- The Health Services (e.g. accident prevention, data collection,
treatment and rehabilitation services)
- Education Establishments and Education Services (e.g. courses
and classroom learning)
- Voluntary Organisation, both local and national (e.g. first aid,
prevention campaigns and materials)
- The Media
