Many agencies and individuals are involved in accident
prevention:
- They may raise awareness about accident prevention issues as
an element of their work by giving information.
- They may influence behaviour by providing not only information,
but also the skills and opportunities to make decisions and act
upon them.
- They may influence and control the environment in which accidents
occur by giving professional advice and through legislation, standards,
codes of practice, engineering, planning, design and manufacturing.
