What they can offer

Free information in the form of leaflets or presentations to all the residents of Hertfordshire. They also undertake the giving of fire safety information at large public gatherings and events e.g. Hertfordshire County Show, Fire Station open days as well as via local radio and television.

Statutory Duties

• Extinguishing and Controlling fires.
• Work alongside colleagues from the other emergency services to rescue people and animals from a variety of situations involving accidents.
• Advise on fire prevention issues.
• Enforcement of Fire Prevention Acts - including fire certificates, issuing petroleum licences for petrol stations etc.
