Accident prevention is especially dependent on the contribution of a wide range of different agencies, both statutory and non-statutory.

The Hertfordshire Accident Prevention Group was established in April 1994. Its members comprise of senior Environmental Health staff from the District and Borough Councils in the county; the Road Safety Unit; Trading Standards and Health and Safety Departments of the County Council; Herts and Beds Strategic Health Authority and Primary Care Trusts.
